Cadillac Commercial Chassis History
A little history about Cadillac Commercial Chassis is a chassis made by General Motors’ Cadillac division. Manufactured from 1931 to 1979, the Commercial Chassis was built as an incomplete vehicle intended for use by coachbuilders for final assembly and bodywork installation.
Manufactured on the D platform (exclusive to Cadillac) throughout its production, the Commercial Chassis was originally derived from the 355 Series, moving on to the 75 Series from 1936 onwards.
Coinciding with changes to the design regulations and downsizing of Cadillac sedans, the Commercial Chassis was phased out as a distinct product line. The professional car base will be continued by the Series 75 and the successor flagship Cadillac sedan for current production.
